- The likely inspiration for Mechagodzilla’s creation was Mechani-Kong, introduced in 1966.

- The Millennium version of Mechagodzilla was nicknamed “Kiryuu” (機龍), which translates to “Machine Dragon”. The real life city Kiryuu (桐生市) is located in Gunma, Japan.
- Unlike its previous incarnations, Kiryuu could move its tail.
- One of Zilla’s foes in Godzilla: The Series, Cyber-Zilla, was probably an homage to Mechagodzilla and or Mecha-King Ghidorah.

Kaiju Confessions:
“I will never understand the hate for GODZILLA VS. SPACEGODZILLA. It’s really no better or worse than the other Heisei flicks.”
Yes… yes, it is…
Kaiju Confessions:
“GODZILLA’S REVENGE is the unsung masterpiece of the series. It’s the kind of personal, earnest film about family life that Ishiro Honda loved to make. And the stock footage doesn’t even bother me, considering it takes place in a kid’s mind.”
Kaiju Confessions:
“GODZILLA VS. DESTORYAH is the REVENGE OF THE SITH of Godzilla movies.
It’s almost 2 hours of boring nonsense with squandered character potential and sub-par effects work,
But the last 5 minutes lure you into a state of emotional vulnerability that tricks you into thinking it was good.”
